Child Fatality Review
The Child Fatality Review Reports include the causes of death, age, sex, race, neighborhood residences and other pertinent information about the Allen County children who died each year. The Team recommendations resulting from those deaths are also included in the reports.As more annual reports of the Child Fatality Review Board are generated, some trends are being formulated. The purpose of the team is to prevent child deaths by examining deaths in the aggregate, noting trends and making policy recommendations to prevent future deaths.
The Allen County Child Fatality Review Board is a responsibility of Allen County Public health. CFR Team members include representatives from Allen County Children’s Services Board, Allen County Medical Society, Allen County Coroner’s office, Lima Police Department, Allen County Sheriff’s office, Allen County Mental Health Board, and the Allen County Health Department.
