Licensed Tattoo and Body Piercing Facilities
Program Background
The Allen County Health Department licenses and inspects tattoo and body piercing establishments. Inspections include equipment, equipment sterilization and methods, and required paperwork.
The goal of this program is to assure that businesses performing tattooing or body piercing procedures do so in a manner that meets safety and sanitation standards. Registered Sanitarians inspect businesses and help educate the operators.

Regulations and Guidelines
Under the authority of Ohio Revised Code 3730.01 – 3730.11, the Allen County Board of Health administers and enforces Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 3701-9 in reference to businesses that offer tattoo and/or body piercing services.
